ADVISORY & MENTORING

Joanna enjoys supporting the next wave of entrepreneurs, with an emphasis on early-stage female-founded businesses.

  • Biscuiteers

Joanna is a Non-Executive Director at Biscuiteers, a company founded in 2007 that offers a stylish and personalised alternative to traditional gifts with beautifully handmade and decorated biscuits. The business delivers to 117 countries worldwide, has two Icing Cafés in central London, and, in addition to direct sales, is stocked by leading retailers including Selfridges, Liberty, Fortnum & Mason, Harrods, and Hamleys. Biscuiteers also has a corporate arm, creating bespoke biscuits for prestigious brands such as Apple, Cartier, and Christian Dior.

  • EISA

Joanna is Chair of the Enterprise Investment Scheme Association - the official trade body for the Enterprise Investment Scheme. EISA is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to help SMEs obtain the funding they need to grow their business and help drive our economy forward. Since their inception, £32bn has been invested via SEIS & EIS into 56,000 companies. These schemes are hugely important, as SMEs employ 17million people in the UK and contribute £2.4 trillion to the economy annually.

  • Buy Women Built

Joanna sits on the advisory board of Buy Women Built (BWB), an organisation that creates awareness of female founded brands for UK consumers and investors. Only 3% of funded British businesses are female founded, a statistic BWB intends to change.

  • IVMS

Joanna mentors the next generation of entrepreneurs through Imperial College’s Venture Mentoring Service (IVMS). The programme offers team mentoring that lends the mentors’ wealth of contacts and experience to a new venture. IVMS is modelled on the highly successful MIT Venture Mentoring Service in the US.

  • The British Beauty Council

Joanna sits on the Advisory Board of the Sustainable Beauty Coalition, formed by the British Beauty Council as one of the recommendations of its ground-breaking 2020 sustainability report ‘Courage to Change’. The Coalition is made up of industry experts, brand owners and industry body representatives from across the beauty sector.
